Maha Ben Hamed is the Community Coordinator for this year’s SEE Djerba edition, working alongside Manar Younsi. A 21-year-old musician and aspiring bioengineer, she was born and raised in Djerba and remains deeply connected to the island’s cultural heritage and living traditions. Driven by a curiosity for the stories and meanings behind cultural practices, she is passionate about creating connections between Djerba and the wider world.
Maha’s journey into curatorial practice began during the 2025 edition of SEE Djerba, where she contributed to various aspects of the exhibition’s curation and performed in a live musical collaboration with German artist Anja Kreysing. Through her work, she seeks to build bridges between music, contemporary art, and heritage, exploring how these disciplines can enrich one another and create new forms of dialogue.
