SEE DJERBA Project
For SEE DJERBA, the artists come together to revisit Djerba’s weaving heritage through “The Weaving Workshop”, a site-specific audiovisual installation that combines the screening of their documentary with a new work developed from its archive, focusing on the gestures, movements, and rhythms of traditional weaving through digital transformation.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Feriel Mesbah, Yosr Ammar, and Youssef Ben Hamda are a multidisciplinary trio bringing together architecture, visual art, documentary, and spatial storytelling. Their practices explore the relationship between people and places, with a particular interest in heritage, memory, craftsmanship, and the ways cultural practices are transmitted through space.

FERIEL MESBAH
Feriel Mesbah is a visual artist, self-taught documentary photographer, filmmaker, and architecture student at ENAU. Since 2014, she has developed a multidisciplinary practice at the intersection of architecture, documentary, and moving image. Through photography, film, and audiovisual installations, she explores the ways in which spaces are inhabited, transformed, and experienced over time. Shaped by travel, urban exploration, and a cinematic sensitivity to architecture and human appropriation, her work uses light, gesture, and material to reveal the atmospheres and layered narratives of places. By bringing together visual storytelling and spatial experience, she investigates how images can reactivate spaces and evoke collective memory.

YOSR AMMAR
Yosr Ammar is a Tunisian architecture student and visual artist whose practice explores the intersections of space, heritage, and visual storytelling. Combining architectural research with photography, film, and site-specific installations, she investigates how places are experienced, remembered, and transmitted. Since 2024, her research has focused on the island of Djerba, exploring the relationships between architecture, craftsmanship, water, and intangible cultural heritage through fieldwork and visual practice.

YOUSSEF BEN HAMDA
Youssef Ben Hamda is a Tunisian architecture student in Marseille and visual artist whose work explores the stories that emerge from the encounter between people and places. Through architecture and painting, he observes how landscapes, built environments, and cultural practices become carriers of memory and identity. His practice is shaped by field research and visual experimentation, questioning the ways communities inhabit, transform, and give meaning to their surroundings. His recent research focuses on mobile communities and their relationships with territory, exploring architecture as a medium for dialogue, recognition, and shared experiences.
