Memory
Amal’s life was turned upside down after her paternal grandmother was diagnosed with chronic Alzheimer’s disease. Haunted by fears of losing her own memory and facing the same fate, Amal embarks on a relentless journey to preserve her identity and the memories she refuses to let go of. Her weapon of choice: an autobiographical documentary.
Through this artistic journey, Amal explores the twists and turns of her personal history, seeking to give voice to the silence that threatens to take over. Thus, the film “Memory” becomes an intimate testimony to a struggle against oblivion, and a cinematic legacy destined to defy the relentless passage of time and cement the essence of who she is.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Amel Zikikout is a Tunisian filmmaker and artistic director. Her work explores memory, place, and personal narratives. Originally from Djerba, she trained in audiovisual production in Paris. Spanning cinema, photography, and art direction, she develops a unique visual style, guided by a search for identity.
